YMC was established in London in 1995 by Fraser Moss and Jimmy Collins. Since then, the label has cemented itself as one of the most enduring British clothing brands. YMC captures the era's post-punk, DIY ethos, whilst displaying Moss's passion for literature, music and the arts. With cultural undertones present in each collection, YMC crafts timeless, referential garments that touch upon a range of styles. The brand's name is inspired by a famous quote from the industrial designer, Raymond Loewy: “You must create your own design style”. The powerful quote informs YMC's identity to this day, with the label continuing to make understated clothing that ignores contemporary fads and trends.
